Double cheque your backups or shadow copies.....

Else no way to recover using conventional methods.

Also, it is not unusual for users to accidentally elevate folders and drop them somewhere else on random (if they have accesses to do it).

It'south really abrasive, simply I assume y'all have checked that already?

I suppose you know that y'all can select a root folder where the data "should / used to" exist, that way y'all can filter out some results.

I would most never used 3rd political party tools (that I shall non name) as some of these take "force" recovery options that can even try recovery the file even if parts of the file is over written.

This have caused me to recover files that became "corrupted" after recovery and destroy several more current files (files that wrote over the deleted file).

Some people who had their DC and file server on same server with only drive letter of the alphabet even did "forced recovery" and it brought downwards the whole Domain Controller (recovery corrupted or deleted newer arrangement files that written over the deleted file in c: drive).

.......

You merely have option that can prevent this from happening again.....

one. Plough on shadow re-create

ii. Have longer backup retentivity periods (son, father, grandfather etc)

I'grand liking recuva but it didn't do the job this time. Turns out that the folder I was looking for was called something completely different from what the user told me. If only there was software to deal with that :)

Thanks for the aid everyone
